One of my colleagues, Mrs. Shatilwe, had a baby girl a few months ago. Her baby is called Dahlia although her nickname is Paloma, after the star of a Mexican soap opera that is unbelieveably popular here.

Kind of random, but last weekend we went camping and passed this bar on the road...

Kilimanjalo bar, a great example of the confusion with 'l's and 'r's here in northern Namibia.

While walking on Sunday morning in the village, we bumped into one of Pete's grade 10 students, Amalia, on her way to fetch water with her younger brothers and sisters.

On Saturday night, Pete, myself and three of my students enjoyed a traditional Owambo dinner. We killed and cooked my chicken and ate it with ombivi (spinach), oshifima (mahangu porridge) and marula oil. Delicious!

The boys who were quick enough to catch the chicken.

Trying not to bond with the chicken.

Me, Emilie and Elizabeth stirring that oshifima.

Out goes vegetarianism!
